Mentoring Program offered by NITCAA Trivandrum

NITCAA TVM is offering a Mentoring Program to the Engineering Students to enhance their skills, to facilitate and acquire deep knowledge in their field of study, selecting electives and to receive advice on career paths. We are having a vast pool of experts – working & retired in almost all fields including technology, administration, academics etc. There will be co-ordinator for all the subjects offered.

The conventional syllabus may not cover all that is required for the making up of an engineer. Here the role of the Mentor becomes more useful. He can share his knowledge and skills acquired from work place,  which normally may not be available in text books.

Mentorship program aims to provide:

  • Advice on selection of Elective subjects
  • Insights into  field of study or profession
  • Advice on career decisions
  • Access to a professional network
  • Imparting confidence and inspiration to set a course for professionals future.

Mentors are typically chosen based on their experience and expertise in their field. Mentor – mentees can be framed for different levels of courses.

Confidential

Mentee-mentor communications shall be kept confidential in the interest of both the parties involved and it is the prime responsibility of the Mentor- Mentee.

Professional

The nature of the mentee-mentor relationship shall be kept strictly professional.

Guidance

Like all other Mentoring programs, the same, shall be mentee-driven. That is, the mentee is expected to determine his/her development needs by himself/herself or with the mentor’s support. The mentee is expected to seek inputs from the mentor to meet those needs. The mentor is expected to provide guidance to the mentee, only according to the mentee’s needs.
